Our dedicated faculty of professionals has one goal: to provide you with the best possible training and prepare you for a long and rewarding career in massage therapy.
Paul Schwinghamer, DC, MA
Dr. Paul Schwinghamer has been involved in the field of Massage Therapy since 1975. He completed his Doctorate in Chiropractic at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in Whittier, California. Dr. Schwinghamer also holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Ryokan College in Culver City, California.
Dr. Schwinghamer is a former CAMTC board member and one of the original contributors who helped the CAMTC become a viable organization. Dr. Schwinghamer has over twenty-five years of experience in founding and operating an ACCSC accredited and BPPE approved massage therapy school. He is also a leader in massage therapy education.
As Director of the Burke Williams Academy of Massage Therapy, Dr. Schwinghamer oversees all operations of the school. He enjoys teaching Anatomy & Physiology, Swedish Massage & Biomechanics, Deep Tissue, Health & Hygiene, and Business & Ethics.
Cyndra Lopez-Mercier, B.A.
Cyndra Lopez-Mercier completed her core massage therapy training in 1991. Cyndra has been employed as the Southern California Regional Massage Therapist Trainer for Burke Williams, Inc., since 1998, and is actively involve in the hiring, scheduling, evaluation, and training of prospective and aspiring Massage Therapists. Ms. Lopez-Mercier teaches Health & Hygiene, Business & Ethics, Swedish Massage & Biomechanics, Deep Tissue, Prenatal Massage, Hot Stones, and Spa Essentials. Cyndra is also well-versed in Shiatsu and Eastern forms of massage therapy.
